How to Sprinkle THC Powder Into a Drink

"Sprinkle" undersells it slightly — you are not seasoning a steak. But the instinct is right: the whole appeal of a drink powder is that it goes into something you already have, with no equipment and no recipe.

Here is how to do it so the dose actually lands where you want it.

Step 1: Pick the drink

Almost anything works, but some drinks are easier than others.

  • Easiest: lemonade, iced tea, juice, sports drinks, flavoured seltzer. Enough body and sweetness to carry anything.
  • Still good: plain sparkling water, cold brew, kombucha. Clean, so use PoolSide Flavorless if you do not want the drink to change.
  • Trickier: very thick smoothies (hard to stir evenly), and anything you will not finish in one sitting.

That last one matters more than people expect. See step 4.

Step 2: Get the ratio right

One 10mg pouch into 6–12 oz is the sweet spot. Less than 6 oz and the flavour can concentrate; more than about 16 oz and you are committing to finishing a large drink to get the full dose.

If you want a lighter serving, the cleanest method is to mix a full pouch into a measured 12 oz and drink half. Splitting dry powder by eye is guesswork.

Step 3: Pour and stir properly

Tear the top off, pour it in, and stir for five to ten seconds. Not a swirl — an actual stir that reaches the bottom of the glass.

Two notes:

  • Add the powder to the liquid, not the liquid to the powder. Dumping lemonade onto dry powder at the bottom of a glass tends to clump.
  • Carbonated drinks will fizz up. Pour slowly, or add the powder first and top up with seltzer afterwards.

Good dispersion looks like nothing at all. If you can see specks, keep stirring.

Step 4: Finish the glass — then wait

The dose is in the whole drink. Half the glass is half the dose, which is fine if that is what you intended and a problem if you forget and finish it an hour later.

Then wait a full hour before deciding whether you want more. Onset varies with what you have eaten and your own tolerance, and the most common mistake in this category is stacking a second serving before the first has landed. Is 10mg of THC a Lot? covers the dosing ladder in more detail.

Mistakes worth avoiding

Mistake What happens Fix
Stirring for one second Uneven dose through the glass Five to ten seconds, reaching the bottom
Mixing into a huge pitcher casually Nobody knows their dose Measure the pitcher, count the pouches, pour even glasses
Topping up a half-finished drink Dose drifts unpredictably One pouch, one glass, finish it
Using boiling liquid in an open mug More aroma, faster evaporation of nothing useful Let hot drinks cool for a minute first

Does it change the taste?

With a flavourless pouch, barely. In a strongly flavoured drink — lemonade, cola, iced tea — most people notice nothing. In plain water you may pick up a faint botanical note, which is exactly why PoolSide Mango exists: if the drink is going to carry a flavour, it may as well be one you chose. Our Flavorless or Mango guide walks through which to buy for which situation.

Where this beats a can

A pre-mixed THC seltzer decides your drink for you, takes up fridge space, and travels badly. A pouch is flat, packs anywhere, and leaves the choice of drink to you. We compared the two formats properly in THC Drink Mix vs Seltzer, including cost per serving.

It also travels to places cans do not — we wrote up the stadium version in THC Drinks for Tailgating.
